Atlas Roof Installation in Pasadena: What to Know First

Atlas roof installation in Pasadena typically runs $14,500 to $28,000 for a standard single-family home, depending on the roof’s pitch, tear-off costs, and which Atlas line you choose. We complete most Atlas tear-offs and replacements in three to five working days, and every job starts with a written price before a single nail goes in. This page is for Pasadena homeowners who already own an Atlas roof and need it replaced, or who are weighing Atlas against GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed and want straight answers.

We’re an independent Atlas service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer, which means we tell you what’s actually best for your house rather than selling from a brand script. Call (626) 389-1956 for a free estimate.

How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • Pinnacle Pristine shingle seal failure. Pasadena’s summer heat cycles run roof surfaces past 140°F, and we regularly see Atlas Pinnacle Pristine shingles where the factory seal strip loses adhesion after eight to twelve years. The shingle tabs lift, wind gets under them, and you get torn-off tabs after a Santa Ana event. Our fix: full tear-off and reinstallation, because spot-sealing a roof with widespread adhesion loss is throwing good money after bad.
  • StormMaster Shake ridge cap splitting. The Atlas StormMaster Shake profile looks sharp on the craftsman bungalows in Madison Heights and Bungalow Heaven, but those thick ridge caps dry out and crack along the nail line. Water sneaks into the ridge and runs down the rafters before you ever see a ceiling stain. We replace the ridge with proper Atlas-compatible cap and new underlayment rather than caulking over the cracks, which leaks again inside two seasons.
  • GlassMaster felt underlayment degradation. Atlas GlassMaster felt does its job for about as long as the shingles above it and not much more. On older Pasadena roofs we open up to find the felt has turned to dry paper, especially on west-facing slopes that eat UV. We install synthetic underlayment on every Atlas replacement, because it holds up to both our rain and our sun better than any felt.
  • AC Foam polyiso on flat sections. A lot of Pasadena homes have flat porch roofs or addition sections, and Atlas AC Foam polyiso board is a common choice there. The failure we see is compression around AC units and foot traffic, which crushes the insulation value and lets water pond. We pull the damaged panels, check the deck, and re-lay with proper drainage slope before recovering.
  • Valley flashing installed flush instead of lapped. This isn’t an Atlas manufacturing problem but an installation shortcoming we inherit all the time. Valley metal laid flush against the shingle edge backs water up under the shingle in Pasadena’s heavy winter rains. On our installs, we open valleys, lap the metal correctly, and use Atlas-compatible flashing details that match the shingle profile.

Our Atlas Roof Installation Process

  1. 1
Walk and measure. We get on the roof, measure every plane, check the deck condition, and document what’s there now, including underlayment type and flashing condition. You get a written scope, not a handshake.
  2. 2
Written price before work. You receive a line-item quote covering tear-off, dump fees, deck repair if needed, underlayment, Atlas shingles, flashing, and cleanup. The number on the page is the number on the invoice.
  3. 3
Material choice conversation. We show you the Atlas line that fits your house and budget: Pinnacle Pristine for most replacements, StormMaster Shake if you’re matching a specific architectural look, or Pinnacle Impact if you want hail and impact resistance beyond the standard.
  4. 4
Installation day. Our crew arrives with a trackable live arrival time, tears off to clean deck, replaces any compromised sheathing, installs synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water shield in valleys, and lays the Atlas shingles per manufacturer spec.
  5. 5
Photo documentation. You get before-and-after photos of your roof, the deck, the underlayment, and the finished install. No wondering whether the new felt actually went down.
  6. 6
Cleanup, inspection, and the written guarantee. We run a magnetic sweeper and hand-clean every landing zone, walk the roof with you if you’d like, and hand over a written 365-Day Done Right Promise covering the new installation.

What Atlas Roof Installation Costs in Pasadena

Most Atlas roof installations in Pasadena land between $14,500 and $28,000 for a standard single-family home with a straightforward tear-off. A smaller ranch with a low-slope roof might come in around $13,000, while a steep two-story craftsman with multiple valleys and ridge lines can break $30,000. Here’s what moves the price:

  • Tear-off and dump fees: $3,000 to $6,500, depending on square footage and whether there are two layers to remove
  • Synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water shield: $1,200 to $2,800 for valleys, eaves, and penetrations
  • Atlas Pinnacle Pristine shingles with full installation: $9,500 to $17,000 on a typical Pasadena roof
  • Deck repair or replacement of rotted sheathing: $90 to $140 per sheet, only if we find damage after tear-off, and it’s in the quote before we touch it

We don’t do change orders on an Atlas install unless we uncover something genuinely hidden behind the old roof. Even then, you see a photo and get a written price before we proceed. Call (626) 389-1956 and we’ll put a firm number in writing.

Why Pasadena Homeowners Call Crestview Roofing Co Pasadena for Atlas Work

Dylan Pace started on these roofs almost twenty years ago, working the craftsman bungalows along Madison Heights and the hillside homes above the Rose Bowl. He learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent the years since learning what actually holds up in Pasadena’s particular mix of hard sun, wet winters, and Santa Ana wind. That’s why every Crestview job goes out under The Relay Visibility Guarantee: a written price before work starts, before-and-after photo documentation, a live arrival time you can track, and a digital invoice sent by text. Get it in writing, then get it done right.

If Atlas isn’t the right material for your particular roof after we walk it, we’ll tell you. We also install GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed, and we don’t have a reason to steer you toward one brand except what your house actually needs.
